Teaching Assistant Professor of PhotographyLocation: Boise, IDPosted: January 02, 2025Application Deadline: January 02, 2026The Boise State Department of Art, Design and Visual Studies works within diverse cultural and visual contexts. We value inclusivity and experimentation, encourage risk-taking and advance knowledge in our field through research and practice.The successful candidate will teach a maximum of 4 courses per semester at all levels within the Photography program, with opportunities to develop and teach courses relative to the candidate's research interests.Minimum qualifications:Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Photography, Digital Photography, Digital Media, or a related visual arts fieldProficient knowledge of analog and digital photography processes, including black-and-white darkroom techniques, film processingProficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.) for artistic productionExperience in digital lab operations and inkjet printing techniquesAn ability to integrate both the history of photography and contemporary theory into teaching and practicePreferred qualifications:Knowledge of alternative photographic processesCollege-level teaching experienceA record of professional accomplishment with a portfolio of professional work, exhibitions, and/or publicationsCommunity engagement and service is highly desirableRequired application materials:Cover letter stating your interests and qualifications, as well as your teaching experienceResume or curriculum vitaePDF Portfolio with 20 examples of creative work (10 mb limit); identify the title, date, media, and size of each work.
