About the position
DanceBUG is seeking a Traveling Live Action / Sports Stills Photographer for the seasonal period of February to June. This role involves traveling throughout the United States from Thursday through Monday to photograph large dance competitions. The photographer will focus on capturing live performances under challenging lighting conditions and will work collaboratively with videographers. No editing is required, as the company handles post-production. This is an opportunity to create lasting memories for dancers and their families while being part of a leading dance media company.

Be legally authorized to work in the United StatesLive within approximately one hour of a major airportPossess a valid U.S. driver's licensePossess a passport or REAL ID-compliant driver's license for domestic air travelBe available to travel Thursday through Monday throughout the seasonBe comfortable driving 5-6 hours when requiredBe comfortable working long production days during competitionsBe able to lift approximately 25 lbsBe able to successfully pass a criminal background checkProvide own professional photography equipment including: Two professional MIRRORLESS camera bodies (Canon, Nikon or Sony only), one constant/fixed aperture zoom lens (24-105mm, 24-120mm, 24-70mm, or 35-150mm), a 70-200mm lens (f/2.8 preferred, f/4 accepted), four memory cards (64GB or larger), media card reader, minimum three batteries and two chargers, and a monopod.Relevant photography experience capturing fast-moving subjects such as Sports, Dance, Theatre, Concerts, Gymnastics, Figure Skating, Cheerleading, low-light event photography, and high-volume event photography.Comfortable shooting in manual mode using continuous autofocus (Servo/AF-C) under changing lighting conditions.Nice-to-haves
